What are Stem Cells? Why do they do for us?

Stem Cells are cells that help repair our bodies. Stem Cells can be found anywhere in your body and are constantly dividing to make more different cells. Because Stem Cells are so dexterous they are able to repair damaged tissue in the body.

How can we use Stem Cell Research to save dreams and help lives?

If Stem Cells can repair damaged tissue, further research on Stem Cells could help people one day be cured from serious diseases such as <a href="en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkinso…"Parkinson's Disease, <a href="en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroke"strokes and spinal chord injuries that are leaving parts of the body and/or brain permanently paralyzed for the rest of one's life. <a href="en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paralyza…"Paralyzation is a functioning loss of muscle(s).

Stem Cells have incidentally already been used in medical therapies which help bring new cells in to a body tissue to potentially help treat a disease.

Controversy against Stem Cell Researching.

Some people debate against Stem Cell Researching as an appropriate use to treat diseases because they believe it is unethical to create, use or destroy Embryonic Cells. Also known as a <a href="en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reproduc…"Reproductive Cloning. Some scientists do believe this search is worth while because it could have a great medical outcome to save lives.

While some people believe in the <a href="en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro-life"Pro Life Movement, this is also what keeps further research from possibility, because they are against <a href="en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euthanas…"Euthenasia, death penalties, cloning of humans/cells and human embryonic cell research.

I wrote this article out of complete heart for a person I have known since I was a child, who is now faced with complete paralysis from the neck down due to a biking accident. His life and hopeful wishes for a career involving bikes is now destroyed because he can no longer move. Sadly he has just graduated from high school ready to take on his dreams and he is faced with this. Stem Cell Research could potentially help him walk again.

This article is dedicated to him, in hopes that one day Research will further for him, and anyone else that is suffering from a disease or injury that is severely impacting their life and most importantly their dreams that are now so immobile and almost erased.
